Taylor Swift Calls Justin Baldoni “a B*itch”

Taylor Swift may not have stepped foot on the set of It Ends With Us, but newly unsealed court documents suggest she was very much part of the off-screen conversation.

As the legal dispute between It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues to unfold, alleged private text messages between Lively and Swift have now been made public—adding one of the world’s biggest pop stars to an already combustible Hollywood saga.

The messages, unsealed Tuesday as part of Lively’s federal lawsuit against Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, reveal Swift using sharp language to describe the film’s director, calling him an expletive and suggesting he sensed trouble ahead.

“I think this bitch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” Swift allegedly texted Lively in early December 2024, just days before Lively’s accusations against Baldoni were detailed in a New York Times investigation.

What the Texts Reveal

According to court filings submitted in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, the messages span conversations between Lively and Swift across 2023 and 2024. Baldoni’s legal team argues the correspondence shows Swift actively supporting Lively’s creative and strategic decisions during production.

In one exchange, Swift allegedly told Lively, “I’ll do anything for you!!” after being asked to back Lively’s revised version of the film’s script, even without having read it, according to Baldoni’s lawyers.

Lively’s legal team strongly disputes that characterization, insisting Swift never agreed to “do Lively’s bidding” or formally endorsed any rewritten draft. In depositions, Lively maintained she told Swift she did not have to read the script and did not want her friend to feel pressured.

Still, messages included in the filings suggest Swift did attend a meeting at Lively’s apartment with Baldoni present, after which Lively reportedly praised Swift’s role in the encounter.

“You were so epically heroic today,” Lively allegedly texted Swift. “I recapped every moment to Ryan. … This clown falling for all of it. But also resisting it. You are the world’s absolute greatest friend ever.”

Creative Control and Power Dynamics

The newly revealed correspondence also touches on behind-the-scenes decisions surrounding the film’s marketing. In April 2024, Swift reportedly advised Lively that Baldoni was “not strategic” for using her song My Tears Ricochet in the film’s trailer.

“If Justin was strategic he would be like no Taylor Swift in the trailer because that gives you more power over the film,” Swift allegedly wrote. Lively responded by agreeing, calling the decision Baldoni’s “only shot” at appearing to have leverage.

Baldoni’s legal filings argue these interactions illustrate a broader pattern in which Lively used her celebrity relationships, specifically with Swift and husband Ryan Reynolds, to exert influence over the film.

In a now-dismissed countersuit, Baldoni described Swift and Reynolds as Lively’s “dragons,” alleging he felt pressured by their presence and status during creative disputes.

“The message could not have been clearer,” Baldoni’s lawyer wrote. “He was not just dealing with Lively.”

The Legal Battle at the Center

Lively first filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department in December 2024, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation during filming. She followed with a federal lawsuit later that month, alleging a coordinated smear campaign intended to damage her reputation.

Baldoni has denied all allegations, with his attorneys calling the claims “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious.” His $400 million countersuit against Lively was dismissed in June and formally closed in November after he failed to amend the filing.

Lively’s amended complaint seeks compensatory and punitive damages but does not specify an amount. Her attorney, Sigrid McCawley, described the newly unsealed documents as “damning,” citing statements from women across the production, including cast, crew, executives, and Baldoni’s own PR team.

Where Taylor Swift Stands

Despite the explosive nature of the texts, Swift’s representatives have repeatedly emphasized her limited involvement with the film. Her spokesperson previously stated that Swift only licensed music for It Ends With Us and had no role in casting, directing, editing, or production decisions.

“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie,” her rep said, adding that she didn’t see the film until weeks after its release and was touring globally throughout production.

Swift was briefly targeted for a subpoena in early 2025 but was later distanced from the case. Her team has not commented publicly on the newly unsealed messages.

A Friendship Under the Microscope

Swift and Lively, once famously inseparable, are reportedly no longer as close, according to multiple outlets. The exposure of their private conversations has only intensified scrutiny of both their friendship and the power dynamics at play behind the scenes of the film.

As this legal battle stretches into its second year, the unsealed texts raise new questions not just about what happened on set, but about how influence, loyalty, and celebrity intersect when Hollywood disputes spill into the courtroom.

And now Taylor Swift has, quite literally, entered the chat.
